Adventure Two: MEATLOAF

Angela's Recipe: Sausage Meatloaf
















Ingredients:

Meatloaf-
1.5 lbs ground beef
2 hot Italian sausage links
1/4 green bell pepper, diced
1/2 small white onion, diced
1 large clove garlic, diced
1 T Worcestershire sauce
1/4 t pepper
1/4 t basil
1/4 t salt
2 slices white bread
1/4 cup milk
2 eggs

Glaze-(can make a double batch if desired)
1/4 cup ketchup
1 t mustard
1.4 T brown sugar


Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Soak bread in milk
3. Mix all ingredients (including milk and bread) well in a large bowl.
4. Put mix in a 9x4 bread pan and cook for 45 minutes.
5. Take out of oven, scoop off fat.
6. Cover top with glaze and cook for 15-25 minutes more until internal temp is 160.

Review: Nice subtle spice. Great with the glaze. Chad prefers my regular meatloaf, but I really liked this.

Danielle's Recipe: Rotel Meatloaf





INGREDIENTS
  • 1 egg
  • 1  pound ground beef
  • 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers (such as RO*TEL®), undrained
  • 1/2 sleeve ritz 1/2 sleeve saltines
  • 1 tbs onion
  • 1  tsp garlic powder, or to taste
  • 1 1/2 tsp seasoned salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper, or to taste

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat an oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Beat the egg in a mixing bowl, then add the ground beef, tomatoes, and crushed crackers. Season with onion flakes, garlic powder, seasoned salt, and pepper. Mix until evenly combined. Pack into a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until no longer pink in the center, about 1 hour. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
   I'M NOT A BIG MEATLOAF FAN, IT HAD GOOD FLAVORING BUT WAS TOO MOIST DIDNT NEED ALL ROTEL JUICE and need to double recipe to fill pan
